Data quality and data governance have come of age.  Many organizations are recognizing the strategic benefits of data quality (DQ) improvement and data governance (DG) and are seeking to address them at an enterprise level. Nigel Turner is Vice President of Information Management Strategy at Trillium Software where he is helping current and potential Trillium Software clients expand and accelerate their enterprise data quality initiatives.  Before this he worked as an independent consultant and writer on data management, providing consultancy & services to the Institute of Direct Marketing and Trillium Software & its customers. 

He spent much of his career at British Telecommunications plc (BT) where he led an internal enterprise wide data quality improvement programme.  This ten year programme was praised by Gartner, Forrester, Ovum Butler and others both for its approach and proven benefits.  He also ran a successful Information Management and CRM practice providing consultancy and solutions to many of BT’s corporate customers. 

Nigel has published several papers on data management and is a regular invited speaker at Telco, CRM and Information Management events. Recently he co-authored the Institute of Direct Marketing’s new online “Essentials of Data Management” training course.  In 2007 he was voted by fellow data management professionals as runner up in Data Strategy magazine’s “UK Data Professional of the Year.”
