Understanding the Rancor between IT and “the Business”
July 2005
Thomas Redman
While political battles over data are waged everywhere, battles between the Information Technology department (IT) and “the business” are often the most damaging. Relations between IT and the business are often strained for many reasons. Battles between these two groups are extremely costly; divert attention from customers; compromise decisions; and thwart strategy. Perhaps it is a model that can also be applied for other issues between IT and the Business.
